Meet K9 Kane: A New Addition to the West Milwaukee Police Department

The West Milwaukee Police Department is thrilled to announce the launch of our K9 Therapy Program, and with it, the introduction of an extraordinary new team member: K9 Kane!

About K9 Kane

​

Kane is a 1-year-old purebred Labrador Retriever known for his gentle, loving nature. He joins us thanks to Partners with Paws Service Dogs of Fredonia, Wisconsin, an organization dedicated to raising and training exceptional service dogs.

​

Kane’s Training and Role

​

Kane will receive therapy training through Partners with Paws, and additional training in narcotics detection. His primary role will be supporting School Resource Officer Victor Herpin, working with students to reduce stress and anxiety, build coping skills, manage behaviors and foster positive connections.

​

Kane’s Impact on the Community

​

Beyond the schools, Kane will accompany Officer Herpin on patrols, offering comfort and support while helping keep our community safe.
